Default Interface Layout Templates

So we have recently gained the ability to switch builds instantly through template saving, but what I think would be another useful idea would be to allow you to save your custom Interface Layouts to switch between them depending on what style you need, for example; your average wammo will usually require a very different interface to a heal/prot monk. So why not be able to save layouts and switch between them as and when needed. Also this would help stop people being too frigid about changing their interface layout.

Sure it's not a necessary function, but it would be useful.

Sounds reasonable. Right now all the settings are saved on the server, but I doubt it would take much effort to adjust it to allow saving to a local HD.

Yup. For mostly damage dealers the layout can be the same, but healers and sopporting players will need another layout.

Even thre alternate layour you could save and set to your characters would be enough.

With three checkboxes in that window of the options panel would do, wouldn't it?

I play GW at my friends house a lot (He has 2 computers that lucky duck) but I've changed my set up so it fits on my screen but when I'm at his house I have to resize many things because I can't see anything.

I'd always wanted an option to change between layouts quickly. Monk, interrupter and melee chars could all benefit from different layouts in my opinion, it's just too impractical to make the changes every time you switch roles.

When I monk, I make my party screen smaller to fit all the players in and move them to the left side right by my skills. It's as easy as that my friend. To move it back takes half a second. What I'm trying to say is, this is pure laziness. Try something new instead of asking for something new

I like to play around with my interface setup. After I change my set up I realize that I liked the other one better but I forgot how to change them back exactly the same. Bah.

Good idea, I have no particular use for it (YET) but I can definitely see how this would come in handy to one more skilled in monking or something similar.

But isn't saving our builds which we could just as easily change back equally lazy?

I was just going to say that :P

And some people are very specific about how they like the layout for each profession, not everyone can make do with a quick resize and move of the party screen.

I wish they would make ui elements snappable too. To each other and maybe even to a grid of some sort. And cut off those stupid sticky-outy bits at the top of windows!
